Sustainability
— Less, and better
We're not perfect. We're transparent.
Selling clothes — even thoughtfully — uses water, energy, and packaging. We try to use less of all three and we publish what we measure.
What we do today
Curated, not bottomless. We carry about 18,000 SKUs at any time, not 200,000. Smaller buys mean less unsold stock — and less ends up in incinerators.
Carbon-paid shipping by default. Every Lume order includes a contribution to Climate-Neutral Now. You don't pay extra; the cost comes out of our margin.
Mono-material packaging. Our outer mailers are 100% recycled PE, the inner tissue is FSC-certified, and the size sticker is dissolvable. No plastic tape, no foil.
Returns recirculate, not landfill. Every returned item is QC'd by hand and either resold or donated to Habitat for Humanity Polska. Less than 0.4% of returned units leave the warehouse as waste.
Renewable-powered warehouse. Our Poznań facility runs on 100% wind-sourced electricity (Tauron Eko Premium tariff, certificate available on request).
Where we still have work to do
- Air freight from Italy. About 22% of new-season stock arrives by air. We're piloting consolidated rail with a partner in Bologna for AW26.
- Synthetic fibers. 31% of pieces on the site contain virgin polyester. Our target is <15% by 2028.
- Scope 3 emissions. We can measure shipping and warehousing. We can't yet measure what happens upstream at every supplier. Working on it.
What you can do
- Pick standard shipping over express where you can — it consolidates with other orders.
- Care matters. Wash cold, line dry, repair before replacing. Our size guide helps cut returns at source.
- Return through your account — the prepaid label routes through our consolidation centre, not direct air freight.
